What an experience! As someone who had performed before I wasn't sure if this was right for me but thank God I signed up. Not only did I get to meet other performers who all do such different stuff to me, it encouraged me to try new things. This course taught me how to put a cohesive act together and it has led on to some fantastic opportunities.

Can’t recommend enough. So much care is placed by Michael on the syllabus and Michael is hugely supportive and warm, encouraging performers of all levels of experience to develop and excel. It has opened the door to a whole new way of performing as a professional and I simultaneously watched him guide someone on my course to a brilliant first performance. Outstanding.x

Frankly Desire

This course is one of the best things I have ever done. It opened my eyes to a whole new world, it taught me, not only about drag but, about respect, love, different points of views of the same reality...
During the course I found a group of people that became close friends and that I do not know what I have been doing without them all this time!
Michael is an incredible person, our fairy godmother who helped us go to the ball that we crazily longed for!!! Thanks a lot for your wise words and your way of making us pushing barriers and find ourselves.
I completely recommend this course, does not matter if you are new or old, tall or short, experience or newcomer, you will always learn something and enjoy yourself.

This course genuinely changed my life completely; it allowed me to become the person who I am today, gave me a social life, and really opened my eyes about what it means to be queer and visible. That, and it helped to deliver Colombia's SECOND biggest export to London. #HaveYouSeenVeronica

Do this course, trust me, it will change your LIFE! XOXO

This course gave me a new family and a new love for drag. A real eye opener and I highly recommend any sister to do this it doesn't matter if your an amateur or already a professional you will still learn so much!!

Michael Twaits, our fairy drag mother, our drag doula, our "I'm not your drag mother" drag mentor, guide and all around excellent human being - They introduce the class by telling us that if we've come to be on something like RuPaul's Drag Race, then we might as well leave now.

The course is by far the best thing I've ever done, and has broadened my definition of drag, cabaret and performance more than I ever thought possible. Michael's course is full of love, and about pushing yourself - and it's for anyone to be able to do. I've never done performance below in my life and within about 10 months of this course, I was nominated for a Boyz Award for Best New Cabaret Act.

All because Michael knows how to get the best out of you and how to inspire you to give that best every single time.

I cannot recommend this experience enough.

If you’re looking for that springboard to launch a new career OR just something utterly joyful to do for ten weeks, then this is it.
Not only do you get to learn from an experienced, working performer, but also a fab variety of guest speakers. This, combined with the final showcase, gives an all-round, fun, supportive learning experience, whatever your take on Drag.
You HAVE to do this course!

Michael Twaits' Art of Drag course is a breath of fresh air in London's Cabaret scene. From the get-go, Michael sets out that the course's interpretation of 'drag' is inclusive, challenging, and about great ideas & hard work. Over the next 10 weeks he supports and encourages you to be all those things.

As a course curator, you could not ask for any more from Michael! He is insightful, generous and generally an all-round wonderful human being. We were also lucky enough to have workshops with a panoply of performers from the circuit, which made the experience even more fascinating, varied and fun.

But the primary perk is the network you build as a bi-product of the course, including Michael himself. It's invaluable, and has allowed me to be part of the Haus of Royalz who now produce our own shows at the RVT.

If you're a drag enthusiast, looking for a springboard for performing, or an exciting new challenge in your free time, I just can't recommend the Art of Drag enough! If you have the slightest temptation, bite the bullet and do it!
